Share of women researchers in all sectors

In 2021, Italy's share of women researchers in all sectors increased by 2.9% compared to 2020, reaching 36.2%.

Italy ranks 13th out of 21 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 1.8% (from 35.5% in 2016).
