Population change - Demographic balance and crude rates at national level

In 1979, Latvia's population change increased by 0.7% compared to 1978, reaching 13.8.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 14.2.

Latvia ranks 17th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 3.5% (from 14.3 in 1974).
