Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2006, Latvia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data decreased by 14.5% compared to 2005, reaching 10.6%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 65.0%.

Latvia ranks 25th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 24.8% (from 14.1% in 2001).
