Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2007, Latvia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data decreased by 16.0% compared to 2006, reaching 8.9%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 62.4%.

Latvia ranks 25th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 33.6% (from 13.4% in 2002).
