Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2016, Latvia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 8.9% compared to 2015, reaching 41.7%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 84.1%.

Latvia ranks 21st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 10.5% (from 46.6% in 2011).
