Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2019, Latvia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data decreased by 1.0% compared to 2018, reaching 37.9%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 77.5%.

Latvia ranks 20th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 12.1% (from 43.1% in 2014).
