Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2020, Latvia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 16.1% compared to 2019, reaching 44.0%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 89.5%.

Latvia ranks 22nd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 14.9% (from 38.3% in 2015).
