Life expectancy by age and sex

In 2024, Latvia's life expectancy by age and sex increased by 1.1% compared to 2023, reaching 76.4.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 81.5.

Latvia ranks 26th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 0.9% (from 75.7 in 2019).
