Life expectancy by age and sex

In 2024, Latvia's life expectancy by age and sex increased by 1.3% compared to 2023, reaching 71.4.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 78.9.

Latvia ranks 27th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 0.7% (from 70.9 in 2019).
