In 2005, Latvia's passenger cars, by type of motor energy and size of engine increased by 8.2% compared to 2004, reaching 742,400.

Latvia ranks 21st out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 33.3% (from 556,800 in 2000).
