Population on 1 January by age group and sex

In 1998, Latvia's population on 1 january by age group and sex decreased by 4.7% compared to 1997, reaching 63,607.

Latvia ranks 21st out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 12.9% (from 73,050 in 1993).
