Population change - Demographic balance and crude rates at national level

In 2005, Lithuania's population change increased by 1.1% compared to 2004, reaching 8.9.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 10.2.

Lithuania ranks 26th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 9.2% (from 9.8 in 2000).
