Population change - Demographic balance and crude rates at national level

In 2006, Lithuania's population change increased by 2.2% compared to 2005, reaching 9.1.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 10.3.

Lithuania ranks 26th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 1.1% (from 9.0 in 2001).
