Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2006, Lithuania's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data decreased by 1.7% compared to 2005, reaching 17.3%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 65.0%.

Lithuania ranks 23rd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 24.5% (from 22.9% in 2001).
