Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2021, Lithuania's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data decreased by 5.7% compared to 2020, reaching 43.3%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 86.7%.

Lithuania ranks 21st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 8.8% (from 39.8% in 2016).
