Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2024, Lithuania's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 2.4% compared to 2023, reaching 38.0%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 80.7%.

Lithuania ranks 22nd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 6.7% (from 35.6% in 2019).
