Life expectancy by age and sex

In 2024, Lithuania's life expectancy by age and sex decreased by 0.1% compared to 2023, reaching 77.5.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 81.5.

Lithuania ranks 23rd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 1.3% (from 76.5 in 2019).
