Life expectancy by age and sex

In 2024, Lithuania's life expectancy by age and sex increased by 0.1% compared to 2023, reaching 73.0.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 78.9.

Lithuania ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 2.0% (from 71.6 in 2019).
