Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2017, Luxembourg's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 11.2% compared to 2016, reaching 21.8%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 81.5%.

Luxembourg ranks 26th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 4.8% (from 20.8% in 2012).
