Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2024, Luxembourg's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 6.5% compared to 2023, reaching 26.3%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 80.7%.

Luxembourg ranks 25th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 17.9% (from 22.3% in 2019).
