In 2023, Luxembourg's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data decreased by 0.8% compared to 2022, reaching 24.7%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 80.5%.

Luxembourg ranks 25th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 18.2% (from 20.9% in 2018).
