At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2018, Malta's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 0.6% compared to 2017, reaching 16.8%.

The figure is in line with the EU-27 average of 16.8%.

Malta ranks 11th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 6.3% (from 15.8% in 2013).
