At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2019, Malta's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 1.8% compared to 2018, reaching 17.1%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 16.5%.

Malta ranks 13th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 8.2% (from 15.8% in 2014).
