Population change - Demographic balance and crude rates at national level

In 2012, Malta's population change decreased by 2.0% compared to 2011, reaching 9.8.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 10.0.

Malta ranks 18th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 5.4% (from 9.3 in 2007).
