Population change - Demographic balance and crude rates at national level

In 2013, Malta's population change decreased by 6.2% compared to 2012, reaching 7.6.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 10.0.

Malta ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 3.8% (from 7.9 in 2008).
