In 2022, Malta's police-recorded offences by offence category increased by 17.8% compared to 2021, reaching 469.

Malta ranks 17th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 150.8% (from 187 in 2017).
