Population structure indicators at national level

In 2002, Malta's population structure indicators at national level increased by 1.5% compared to 2001, reaching 20.7.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 26.3.

Malta ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 5.1% (from 19.7 in 1997).
