Population on 1 January by age group and sex

In 1991, Malta's population on 1 january by age group and sex increased by 5.4% compared to 1990, reaching 7,099.

Malta ranks 26th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 24.7% (from 5,692 in 1986).
