Main national accounts tax aggregates

In 2007, Malta's main national accounts tax aggregates increased by 2.1% compared to 2006, reaching 33.8%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 39.9%.

Malta ranks 20th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 9.7% (from 30.8% in 2002).
