Unemployment by sex and age - annual data

In 2025, Malta's unemployment by sex and age increased by 4.3% compared to 2024, reaching 9.6%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 15.2%.

Malta ranks 25th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 16.5% (from 11.5% in 2020).
