In 1987, Netherlands's fertility indicators increased by 0.6% compared to 1986, reaching 1.56.

Netherlands ranks 15th out of 22 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 4.0% (from 1.50 in 1982).
