Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2010, Netherlands's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 4.6% compared to 2009, reaching 58.9%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 80.4%.

Netherlands ranks 13th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 18.7% (from 49.6% in 2005).
