Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2012, Netherlands's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 3.0% compared to 2011, reaching 4.7%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 16.0%.

Netherlands ranks 25th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 41.3% (from 3.3% in 2007).
