In 2014, Portugal's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 4.9% compared to 2013, reaching 25.6%.
The figure is above the EU-27 average of 21.4%.
Portugal ranks 4th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.
Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 11.8% (from 22.9% in 2009).
