At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2020, Portugal's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 6.2% compared to 2019, reaching 16.7%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 17.5%.

Portugal ranks 14th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 16.9% (from 20.1% in 2015).
