In 2022, Portugal's police-recorded offences by offence category increased by 60.1% compared to 2021, reaching 1,012.

Portugal ranks 14th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 3.7% (from 976 in 2017).
