Cooling and heating degree days by country - annual data

In 2018, Portugal's cooling and heating degree days by country increased by 23.8% compared to 2017, reaching 1,350.

Portugal accounts for 45.4% of the EU-27 total of 2,974.

Portugal ranks 25th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 2.1% (from 1,380 in 2013).
