Population structure indicators at national level

In 2002, Portugal's population structure indicators at national level increased by 0.8% compared to 2001, reaching 38.2.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 38.7.

Portugal ranks 15th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 4.7% (from 36.5 in 1997).
