Population on 1 January by age group and sex

In 1990, Portugal's population on 1 january by age group and sex increased by 5.7% compared to 1989, reaching 245,388.

Portugal ranks 13th out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 25.8% (from 195,075 in 1985).
