Housing cost overburden rate by poverty status - EU-SILC survey

In 2025, Portugal's housing cost overburden rate by poverty status decreased by 8.7% compared to 2024, reaching 6.3%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 7.7%.

Portugal ranks 14th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 53.7% (from 4.1% in 2020).
