Housing cost overburden rate by poverty status - EU-SILC survey

In 2024, Portugal's housing cost overburden rate by poverty status increased by 40.8% compared to 2023, reaching 6.9%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 8.2%.

Portugal ranks 13th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 21.1% (from 5.7% in 2019).
