Unemployment by sex and age - annual data

In 2025, Portugal's unemployment by sex and age decreased by 7.7% compared to 2024, reaching 6.0%.

The figure is in line with the EU-27 average of 6.0%.

Portugal ranks 14th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 15.5% (from 7.1% in 2020).
