In 2014, Romania's police-recorded offences by offence category increased by 185.6% compared to 2013, reaching 164,396.

Romania ranks 10th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 232.8% (from 49,398 in 2009).
