In 2017, Romania's police-recorded offences by offence category increased by 4.4% compared to 2016, reaching 96,154.

Romania ranks 12th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 69.5% (from 56,732 in 2012).
