In 2017, Spain's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 1.3% compared to 2016, reaching 199,505.

Spain ranks 8th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 4.3% (from 208,450 in 2012).
