In 2017, Germany's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 10.4% compared to 2016, reaching 1,156,422.

Germany ranks 2nd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 8.8% (from 1,267,576 in 2012).
