Population change - Demographic balance and crude rates at national level

In 2009, Romania's population change increased by 0.9% compared to 2008, reaching 10.9.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 10.5.

Romania ranks 14th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 7.9% (from 10.1 in 2004).
