Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2010, Romania's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 33.0% compared to 2009, reaching 29.0%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 80.4%.

Romania ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 82.4% (from 15.9% in 2005).
