Life expectancy by age and sex

In 1998, Romania's life expectancy by age and sex increased by 1.2% compared to 1997, reaching 69.9.

Romania ranks 24th out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 0.6% (from 69.5 in 1993).
