Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2020, Romania's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 8.8% compared to 2019, reaching 8.5%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 10.3%.

Romania ranks 21st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 55.6% (from 5.5% in 2015).
